While the sunny weather might bely the time of year, the master-planned community of Looking Glass is preparing for a holiday season of traditional fun and entertaining things to do nearby from craft and artisan markets to performances by talented dancers, singers and thespians! This weekend and next catch a performance of The Nutcracker, A Christmas Carol, Stomp, Goodnight Moon or the infamous Stunt Dogs!

THE NUTCRACKER OF PARKER

Kick off the season by bringing your family to the annual holiday tradition, The Nutcracker of Parker! This magical ballet features the famous score of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky enhancing the classic tale of a little girl named Clara who receives a simple wooden doll, a Nutcracker, from her Godfather Herr Drosselmeyer. When her brother Fritz causes trouble and breaks her doll, Herr Drosselmeyer repairs it and add a little magic to Clara’s beloved Nutcracker. Clara then falls asleep, waking into a dreamland where her Nutcracker Prince transforms into a real boy. Together, the Prince and Clara venture through the Land of Snow to the Land of the Sweets, where they meet the Sugar Plum Fairy, Cavalier and their gallant court of dancers from every kingdom.

MAKE SOME NOISE: STOMP!

STOMP is explosive, provocative, sophisticated, sexy, utterly unique and appeals to audiences of all ages. The international percussion sensation has garnered an armful of awards and rave reviews and has appeared on numerous national television shows. The eight-member troupe uses everything but conventional percussion instruments – matchboxes, wooden poles, brooms, garbage cans, Zippo lighters, hubcaps – to fill the stage with magnificent rhythms. The return of the percussive hit also brings some new surprises, with some sections of the show now updated and restructured and the addition of two new full-scale routines, utilizing props like tractor tire inner tubes and paint cans. As USA Today says, “STOMP finds beautiful noises in the strangest places.” See what all the noise is about.

DENVER CHRISTMAS SHOW

This Christmas-themed event is held at the National Western Complex and features more than 300 booths of arts, crafts, and gifts from local artisans and vendors. From the children’s Christmas Market (featuring young entrepreneurs) to the Candy Shoppe, collaboration station, Cocoa with Mrs. Claus and of course pictures with her husband! A CHRISTMAS CAROL

Essential to the holiday season in Denver, A Christmas Carol is a joyous and opulent musical adaptation for the whole family that traces money-hoarding curmudgeon Ebenezer Scrooge’s triumphant overnight journey to redemption. With all the ghosts, past, present and future and Tiny Tim, this annual presentation is always memorable and rewarding. Join the CJRO with featured vocalist, Tatiana LadyMay Mayfield, for a night of timeless jazz celebrating three of the most iconic and influential artists of the 20th century — Nancy Wilson, Cannonball Adderley and Bill Evans. STEVE TREVINO

Steve Treviño is America’s Favorite Husband. His relatable approach affirms his status as one of the country’s premiere stand-up comedians, viewed over 300 million times, selling out shows across the nation, and amassing over 3.4 million total social media followers.

His Showtime special, Grandpa Joe’s Son, staked out a spot in the Nielsen Top 20 when it first premiered. He funded, produced, and shot his 2014 Netflix hit, Relatable. A clip titled from that special, When Your Wife Comes Home from Shopping, exploded, generating over 56 million views on Facebook and paving the way for his other viral clips like When You Ask Your Wife If She Wants McDonald’s (21 million views). In 2022 his fifth special, I Speak Wife garnered over 4 million views on Youtube.com. 

In 2020, he and his wife, Renae, unveiled a joint weekly podcast entitled Steve Treviño and Captain Evil. On the podcast, the couple navigate the treacherous topics of relationships, family and stand-up comedy. All while trying to stay married. Since launching, the podcast has generated over 1.5 million views/streams. THE COMEDY ZONE: TALON SAUCERMAN

Austin Black will open the COMEDY ZONE at the PACE Center with a laugh and a half. He is a Midwesterner from Iowa who now resides in Denver and has won many crowds over with his observational takes on life while completely dunking on his friends and family. Austin performs at independent shows and clubs around Colorado and the Midwest.

The featured performer of the night is the perennial well-groomed and a snappily dressed, Talon Saucerman. Just a good ole boy from South Dakota, Talon uses his redneck logic and Grampa’s advice as a little fish in a big pond: “Move to the big city to save the family farm, seeking fame, fortune and cheap whiskey along the way.”

Talon is a regular at the world-famous Comedy Works in Denver an has previously opened for comedy icons such as Steve-O, Kevin Farley, Bobby Collins, David Koechner, Dana Gould and John Reap.

Santa is coming to the Rock. ONE CHRISTMAS NIGHT IN MEMPHIS

Rock the holidays with One Christmas Night in Memphis, an evening of holiday and ‘50s music event that is as nostalgic as it is entertaining.

​Get ready for a holiday night of rockabilly, country, gospel and pure 1950s rock and roll – a high energy concert that will take you back to December 4, 1956. That’s the night when four of the biggest names in early rock and roll – Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis and Johnny Cash – gathered together for an impromptu jam session at the legendary Sun Studios in Memphis, Tennessee.

TURKEY DAY 5K AND FUN RUN

Planning to eat your fill at the Thanksgiving dinner table? Take a preemptive, calorie-burning run this morning! Part of the Parks and Recreation Run Series, this family-friendly community event is a laid-back trot with friends and neighbors. Registered participants will receive a pair of commemorative knit gloves, souvenir race bib and hot cocoa, cider or coffee.  Participants may also choose to add on a finisher medal during registration. This event is not officially timed.

PARKER ICE TRAIL OPENING!

One of the only ice trails in the country, the Parker skating path meanders through the park reminiscent of a frozen river or canal. Bring the family for this special *relaxed atmosphere movie showing of The Grinch, the animated film adaptation of Dr. Seuss’ beloved classic, How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The Grinch tells the story of a cynical grump who goes on a mission to steal Christmas, only to have his heart changed by a young girl’s generous holiday spirit.
