COLORADO REMEMBERS 9/11

Join the CELL, the Denver Post, Mayor Johnston, and Governor Polis for a special Colorado Remembers 9/11 tribute followed by a timely national security forum. This year’s forum, Power & Peril: U.S. Response to Iran, Russia, China, will feature Dr. Mark T. Esper, 27th U.S. Secretary of Defense and 23rd Secretary of the Army; Brett McGurk, fmr. White House Coordinator for the Middle East; and Peter Bergen, CNN National Security Analyst. Together, they will deliver a critical discussion on the most urgent threats facing the United States that could shape the world for decades to come.
DEVON ALLMAN’S BLUES SUMMIT

Devon Allman has been immersed in the world of blues and rock his entire life. As the son of the legendary Gregg Allman, Devon grew up surrounded by the rich musical legacy of the Allman Brothers Band, a group that played a pivotal role in shaping the Southern rock and blues sound.

Devon Allman’s Blues Summit is a powerhouse gathering of blues legends that promises to electrify the stage. With Devon Allman at the helm, this summit brings together an all-star lineup that includes the legendary Jimmy Hall, the soulful voice behind the iconic Southern rock band Wet Willie. Adding to the line up’s historical legacy is Larry McCray, a legendary blues guitarist and singer renowned for his soulful sound and emotive guitar work. Rounding out Devon Allman’s Blues Summit is the powerhouse vocalist from New Orleans, Sierra Green of Sierra Green and The Giants.
AMY GRANT

Amy Grant is one of contemporary Christian music’s most prominent singer-songwriters. Since beginning her career in 1978, she has released dozens of albums, won six Grammy Awards, and enjoyed crossover success in the pop music world. In 2021, as she looked ahead to her fifth decade in the music industry, Grant was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame and in 2022, she became the first contemporary Christian recording artist to be honored by the Kennedy Center. At the same time, a pair of health scares threatened to derail her late career renaissance. In 2022 a bicycling accident resulted in a traumatic brain injury; and soon after, doctors discovered a cyst in Grant’s throat that required surgery. After a difficult recovery in which she had to learn to sing again, the indefatigable Grant — now married to country artist Vince Gill – announced that she planned to return to touring and performing.

SHAYNE SMITH

Through his excellent storytelling and unique style, Shayne Smith is quickly becoming one of the most talked-about comedians on the scene. THE LOVIN’ SPOONFUL

Formed in New York’s Greenwich Village, The Lovin’ Spoonful, made up of original band members John Sebastian, Steve Boone, Joe Butler, and Zal Yanovsky, exploded onto the charts sending their first seven singles soaring onto Billboard’s Top-10 virtually overnight.

HORSE RACING IN AURORA

Straight out of the gate, watching horse racing at the Bally’s Arapahoe Park honors this ancient sport—one of the oldest in history. The Denver Jazz Festival is three nights of world-class live music hosted by CMDance and the Denver Arts Venues. RUGBY COMES TO TOWN

Laying the groundwork to host the global 2031 Rugby World Cup, Denver has made way for the 2025 qualifier for the 2027 Men’s Rugby World Cup in Australia, bringing high stakes and some of the world’s most passionate teams to Colorado. On Sunday at the Dick’s Sporting Goods Park teams from Canada, Fiji, Japan, Samoa, Tonga and the U.S. will compete in the semi-finals of the Asahi Super Dry Pacific Nations Cup. Fans can purchase one ticket to see all three games in a single day, bringing high-level rugby to the Mile High City.
