Resident Profile: The Banoj Jena Family
During a recent photo shoot with residents of Looking Glass, we met Banoj Jena and his beautiful family. Banoj was kind enough to share a few interesting details about how he and his wife Pallabi Behera found their new home in this popular master-planned community in Parker and why they love living here.
1. Where did you move from – before you came to Looking Glass?
Ans: The Denver DTC area
2. What are the differences between where you lived and Looking Glass?
Ans: The biggest differences are the sense of community and the surroundings.
In Looking Glass, we have great neighbors, a welcoming community, and a wonderful location. And the best part – I can see Pikes Peak right from my bedroom! 😊
3. How did you find Looking Glass?
Ans: A friend of mine was living here, and I visited him once. I instantly loved the neighborhood—the vibe, the layout, and the surroundings—and that visit helped me decide to make it our home too.
4. When did you move into your new home?
Ans: September 2023
5. What do you do for a living?
Ans: I am a Software Engineer and I work for GHX (Global Healthcare Exchange)
6. How old is your son? What school will he attend?
Ans: He is 4 years and 4 months old. He goes to Legacy Point Elementary School, and he is in Pre-K now.
7. Which builder did you choose? And why?
Ans: I chose Lennar as the builder. Several of my friends had positive experiences with them and gave great feedback about the quality of construction and included features. That gave me confidence in choosing Lennar for our home.
8. Which model did you choose? And why?
Ans: I was looking for a smaller home with around 3 bedrooms. As Indians, we follow Vastu Shastra – a traditional system of architecture that emphasizes directional alignments and energy flow.
This particular model, the Columbia, satisfied all our needs. It has a decent-sized backyard, aligns well with our Vastu preferences, and offers a beautiful view of Pikes Peak right from our bedroom.
That combination made the decision easy for us.
9. What do you love most about your home?
Ans: I love the cozy and comfortable size of the house – it feels just right for our family. The backyard is a great space to relax, the basement adds extra functionality, and the view of Pikes Peak is something we truly enjoy every day.
10. What do you like about living in Looking Glass?
Ans: Looking Glass is situated on slightly higher ground compared to nearby areas, which gives it a unique charm. I really enjoy the view of the city as I start driving from home—it’s a beautiful sight that never gets old.
11. What’s the best thing about living in Parker?
Ans: Parker has everything I need—stores, restaurants, and essential services are all easily accessible. It also offers plenty of beautiful hiking spots, which I really enjoy. Plus, being close to Castle Rock gives me quick access to even more places and amenities.
12. What kinds of things do you and your family do for fun?
Ans: We love hiking and enjoy exploring new places whenever we get the chance. One of our favorite family activities is taking our son to O’Brien Park – almost every day, as long as the weather cooperates. Secret: My wife and I are both big fans of Chick-fil-A!
13. There seem to be lots of social activities in Looking Glass – do you participate?
Ans: Yes, we love being part of the community and actively participate in the events organized in Looking Glass.
I even volunteered during the Holi celebration last year—it was a great experience!
14. Do you have any other family who live nearby?
Ans: Unfortunately, no – my immediate family lives in India.
However, I’m lucky to have a great group of friends here who feel like extended family.
My parents do visit us from time to time, which makes those moments extra special.
